HYDERABAD: At 12:15 pm, the latest updates on the Telangana results show the Indian National Congress (INC) leading strongly in 67 seats. According to data available on the Election Commission (EC) website for the Telangana Assembly Election Results, the Telangana Congress was ahead on 61 seats, while another party, BRS, was leading on 36 seats.

Revanth, the Chief of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), was in the lead in Kodangal. Notably, Revanth also held the lead in Kamareddy, where he was contesting against Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao. Outside the residence of Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy, TPCC workers gathered to celebrate the early lead.

Instructing its candidates and agents, the Telangana Congress urged them to remain at the counting centers throughout the day for overseeing the process. The Assembly elections, comprising 119 seats, were conducted on November 30, and the counting is scheduled for December 3. Rahul Gandhi, a leader in the Congress party, conducted a virtual meeting with senior party members on Saturday, emphasizing the need for vigilance, as per party sources.

Exit polls released after polling ended on November 30 showcased varied predictions for the five states. They indicated a potential advantage for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, while clearly favoring the Congress in Telangana and Chhattisgarh. Additionally, the exit polls suggested the ruling MNF ahead in Mizoram. While most exit polls leaned towards the Congress in Telangana, a few foresaw a tight contest in Rajasthan, projecting a slim lead for the Congress.
