A research was done on the use of telephones in 8 jails of Madhya Pradesh recently. Interesting information has been found in this. These are 8 prisons - Central Jail Jabalpur, Central Jail Indore, Central Jail Sagar, Central Jail Ujjain, Central Jail Bhopal, Central Jail Gwalior, Central Jail Hoshangabad and District Jail Indore.
These results are part of a research being done on the prisons of the country of Madhya Pradesh Jail Department and Vartika Nanda working on the jails. According to this research, the eight jails are the largest jails in Madhya Pradesh and they also have more prisoners than capacity. There are a total of 15,698 prisoners in these jails, including 14955 men and 743 women. It is clear from the survey that the ratio of phone-calls in jails has increased at least twice during the Corona period. According to Madhya Pradesh Jail Director General Sanjay Choudhary, this phone facility has been given free of cost to the inmates. During the time of this corona, the record for the release of parole was also recorded in Madhya Pradesh. It is also worth noting that before the corona in the Central Jail Bhopal, the male prisoners used to call an average of 390 and women 28, but during the time of the corona it has reached an average of 600 and 48.
