West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party TMC MP and famous Bengali cinema actress Nusrat Jahan is once again in the news. The reason for his discussions this time is his marriage to Nikhil Jain. She married Nikhil Jain in Turkey 2 years ago in 2019, though now Nusrat Jahan says her marriage is not valid at all. Therefore, divorce from Nikhil does not make sense at all. Nusrat says she has parted her ways long ago.
According to a statement issued by Nusrat Jahan, according to turkish Marriage Regulation, the marriage is invalid as it is an interfaith marriage so it needs to be recognized under the Special Marriage Act in India, which did not happen. Nusrat said that according to the law, it is not a marriage but a relationship or a live-in relationship. Therefore, the question of divorce does not arise at all. Nusrat said she did not make it public about her separation from Nikhil because she wanted to keep it to herself.
Let us tell you that for some time now, there have been claims in many media reports that Nusrat is pregnant. However, the reports are yet to be confirmed by the actress. Media reports also quoted Nikhil Jain as saying that he was not aware of Nusrat becoming pregnant. They have not been together for 6 months and even if Nusrat is pregnant, it is not their child.
