On Thursday night, a terrorist was killed by security forces in an encounter in the forest of Kalakot tehsil of Rajouri district of Jammu division. This encounter took place in Mehari village. Information about some terrorists being surrounded is coming to light. Security forces have surrounded an area of about one kilometre of the forest. Operation of security forces is going on. The local people informed the army after seeing suspicious movement in the Miadi forest of Kalakot tehsil. After which the soldiers of RR Battalion started a search operation in the jungle.

DIG of Police Vivek Gupta of Rajouri and Poonch range said that after the intelligence input, a search operation was carried out by the police and army personnel in Kaso Kalakot area. During the search operation, the hidden terrorists opened fire on the security forces, after which a terrorist has been killed in retaliation. The identity of the terrorist is not known. It is said that DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Vivek Gupta and SSP Chandan Kohli also reached the spot. According to sources, the terrorists hiding in the jungle may be the companions of the same three intruders who were killed during cross-border infiltration in Kalal sector on 28 May last month. It is speculated that the terrorists may have wandered into the forest of Kalakot.

Apart from this, the terrorists threw a grenade at the police station in Shopian on Thursday in Srinagar, but it did not explode. After this, the terrorists escaped. Security forces have started searching for terrorists. In another incident on Thursday, some militants attacked the police team in Yaripora area of Kulgam. A health worker was injured in the firing of terrorists. While firing on the police team, the terrorists managed to escape from there. In the search operation, the security forces recovered a black Santro Car in which the terrorists were riding.
