Tehran: In the midst of the ongoing Muslim women's movement against the hijab, terrorists fired indiscriminately at a Shia shrine in Iran. 15 people have died in this terrorist attack, while 40 have been injured. The terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack took place on Wednesday (26 October) at the Shah Cheragh shrine located in Shiraz, southern Iran.
Terrorist organization Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack via Telegram channel, saying that "at least 20 Shias were killed and dozens were injured in the attack." At the same time, according to local media reports, 15 people have lost their lives in this attack. Iran's state-run news agency Irna quoted the Justice Department as saying that three armed terrorists entered the shrine at 5:45 pm local time. According to reports, the armed terrorists started firing indiscriminately as soon as they entered the shrine. Enforcement agencies have caught two terrorists, while the search for the third is on. Local media say that the attackers are not Iranian citizens.
Let us tell you that the terrorist organization Islamic State has already attacked Shia mosques and dargahs. In 2017, terrorists attacked the Iranian parliament building and the mausoleum of the country's former supreme leader Ayatollah Khomeini. At that time, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi had said that he would not spare the perpetrators of this attack.
