Guwahati: The Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) says that anti-national activities are being conducted in many private madrasas of the state. The BJP has asked the state administration to take care of the madrasas whether they are following the instructions issued by the government or not.

BJP spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sharma says that sleeper cells are being prepared for Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) in four madrasas located in Chapori area. This trend has been going on for the last few years. BJP leaders have made these allegations while holding a press conference. During this, Mominul Awal was also present along with Ranjib Kumar Sharma. Referring to the arrest of five youths, BJP leaders said that such activities were being conducted at Chakliyapada Madrasa in Barpeta district. After finding out, the Assam Police has arrested some people. It is clear from this that Islamic fundamentalist organizations are active here.

He said that the guidelines of government madrasas are not followed in private madrasas. Accusing the Congress, he said that they work for appeasement of minorities and they never opposed terrorism. The party spokesperson said that AIUDF and AMSU have always been advocating Islamic fundamentalist organisations.
