Amritsar: Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government in Punjab has started running a stick on private schools. The Punjab government has issued an order directing all private schools that they cannot compel the parents of children to buy school books or uniforms from a particular shop.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has asked all private schools in Punjab to strictly follow this rule. The Bhagwant Mann government has said in its order that all private schools in Punjab will have to issue a list of shops from where children can buy books and uniforms. This list will also have to be sent to the District Education Officer. District education officers will send teams to these shops and get them investigated. This team will visit these shops at any time to verify whether those goods are available here or not.

If it is found that the school has given wrong name then strict action will be taken against the school. It has also been written in the order of the AAP government that if there is any change in the design of the school uniform, then the old children will have to give two years time to buy the new dress. Till then children will be allowed to come to school with old clothes.
