Sune Luce will lead South Africa's women's cricket team in the upcoming series of limited-overs against India as regular captains Dane van Niekkerk and Chloe Tryon will not be able to play once again due to injuries. Cricket South Africa (CSA) reported this on Sunday. The visiting team arrived in India on Saturday and is currently undergoing a six-day separation. Here on March 7, the team is going to practice for two days before the first ODI against India.

South Africa retained most of the players of the 18-man squad that won the ODI and T20 series against Pakistan last month. Van Niekkerk and Chloe were also not part of the team for the series against Pak. Fast bowler Masabata Klaas has not been a part of the team due to an injury suffered in the final moments. Sune Luce had led the team in the previous series and she would continue to hold this responsibility as Van Niekerk and Chloe did not recover from a back injury. "It is very exciting to finally confirm the tour and announce our team to play here in India," Cricbuzz said in a statement quoting South African women's coach Hilton Moreeng. We are keen that our women players will prove themselves in different circumstances.

Continuing his talk, he said that India is always going to be a great place to visit and we are ready to face the upcoming challenges. There will also be a series of three T20 Internationals after 5 ODIs. All these matches are to be played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Teammates as follows - Sune Luus (c), Ayabonga Khaka, Shabnim Ismail, Laura Wolvaardt, Trisha Chetty, Sinalo Jafta, Tasmin Britz, Marizanne Kapp, Nondumiso Shangase, Lizelle Lee, Anneke Bosch, Faye Tunniclife, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Mignon du Preez, Nadine de Klerk, Lara Goodall and Tumi Sekhukhune.
