Kochi: In Kerala, an injured person died in the vehicle as the ambulance door did not open. Giving information in this regard, police sources said that the injured person was brought to the Government Medical Hospital, but the door of the ambulance did not open due to a technical fault. Meanwhile, the injured person died in the vehicle itself. He had sustained serious injuries in a scooter accident in Kozhikode.
Police sources have identified the deceased as 66-year-old Koymon, who was a resident of nearby Ferok. The incident happened on Monday afternoon. Sources have informed that the door of the ambulance was jammed for about half an hour, due to which there was a delay in admitting him to the accident ward of the hospital. The police officer said that the driver and assistant of the ambulance tried hard to open the door of the vehicle, but did not succeed. He told that later the people standing nearby broke the glass and opened the door of the ambulance from inside, but by then it was too late.
The relatives of the deceased have expressed strong displeasure over the incident. Medical College Police have said that they have not received any information about the incident from the hospital so far. At the same time, State Health Minister Veena George has also reacted on this matter. He has issued orders to investigate the entire matter.
