Britain's Culture Minister Oliver Dowden has said that the Premier League has not yet received the green signal from the government to play in the vacant stadium. Dowden said this to BBC Radio 4. He said, "They (the English Premier League) are yet to get the nod from the government." The English Premier League has been postponed since March 13 due to the Kovid-19 pandemic, and there are still uncertainties about its resumption.

The league's clubs will now hold a meeting on Monday, in which discussions will be held on playing at neutral venues. Dowden said, "If we can make a plan that works, I would like us to be able to move forward with it because I think it will be good for the nation and it will be good for football as a whole."

He said, "I am sure it can start again, but the safety of the people is first. So it will start only when we are convinced about this thing." Dowden said that all sports should be prepared to play in empty stadiums in the near future. The minister said, "This is not only for the Premier League, but also in the rest of football and other sports can also be played in an empty stadium."
