Shivpuri: A major operation has been taken one after the other in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh and now the implementing machinery in charge in Shivpuri has been removed. As per the information received recently, SK Agarwal, executive engineer in charge of Manikhera Dam, has been removed. This action has been taken on a complaint of the late opening of dams even after warning from the Meteorological Department. In fact, several officials including Sheopur Collector-SP have been transferred due to negligence in the floods in the Gwalior Chambal division earlier.

Talking about Shivpuri district, SK Agarwal, the implementing machinery in charge of Madikheda dam here, has been removed by the water resources department last yesterday. He has now been replaced by Manohar Vorati, assistant engineer of Rajghat Canal Project, as the implementing machinery in charge, Madikheda Dam. The action is said to have been taken on a complaint of the delayed opening of gates of Madikhera Dam. In fact, the Met department had already issued a warning of heavy rain but the gates of Madikhera Dam were not opened but delayed and due to this, SK Agarwal, the implementing machinery in charge of Madikheda Dam, was removed.

Due to their negligence, 10 gates of the dam suddenly opened and this suddenly raised the water level of many rivers including Sindh, causing the situation to become a flood. If it had been taken seriously in time, such a situation might not have happened. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath has also made a statement in the matter. He termed the sudden opening of the gates of the Madikheda dam as the reason for the flood.
