Toyota Motor Corporation has recently unveiled the latest iteration of its luxurious MPV, the fourth-generation 2024 Vellfire. With the Alphard as its sister model, the Vellfire has already made its debut in Japan and will soon be introduced to global markets. While the current model is already available in India, the arrival of the new fourth-generation Vellfire is anticipated next year.

Design and Platform of the 2024 Toyota Vellfire
Underpinning the 2024 Toyota Vellfire MPV is the advanced TNGA-K platform, which it shares with the new Lexus LM. This all-new car is built on a fresh platform while retaining its iconic boxy proportions. Notably, the latest model has undergone an increase in length, resulting in a more spacious interior. The design of the new Vellfire showcases evolutionary changes from its predecessor.

The sides of the vehicle feature a seamless glasshouse that extends from the front to the rear, without any interruptions. At the front, a substantial slatted grille, adorned with the Toyota logo in the center, grabs attention. Flanking the grille are split headlamp units with integrated LED daytime running lights located in the lower section. The rear of the Vellfire boasts a distinctive V-shaped LED taillamp setup, accentuated by chrome elements and a prominent spoiler.

Cabin and Features of the 2024 Toyota Vellfire
Continuing its legacy as the epitome of luxury, the 2024 Vellfire showcases significant improvements in its cabin design. With seating for six occupants, including the driver, the interior provides a lavish environment. Toyota has worked diligently to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels inside the cabin, enhancing the comfort of passengers. The second-row seats are designed as business-class captain seats, offering maximum luxury and comfort. These seats, part of the Executive Lounge, can be fully reclined and equipped with ventilation systems for heating and cooling. Additionally, passengers can conveniently control the ventilation, air conditioning, and other rear settings using a portable control device.

The front-row passengers are greeted by a fully digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen display seamlessly integrated with user-friendly buttons. Compared to its predecessor, the overall setup in the new Vellfire exhibits a simpler and more streamlined approach. Notably, the Super-Long Overhead console, developed by Toyota, houses ambient lights, air conditioning vents, and various switches, further enhancing the cabin ambiance.

Engine Options of the 2024 Toyota Vellfire
Toyota offers two engine options for the Vellfire. The first is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, delivering a robust 275 horsepower. This engine is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The second option is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine, generating 250 horsepower. The hybrid powertrain is coupled with an electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (e-CVT).

Anticipated Launch in India
While occupying a niche segment, the Toyota Vellfire has gained popularity among Indian customers for its unparalleled luxury and comfort. Its distinct advantage of having no direct competitors in the Indian market has contributed significantly to its success. Although Toyota has not yet confirmed the details, industry experts predict that the new 2024 Toyota Vellfire MPV will be launched in India next year. With an expected ex-showroom price around Rs 1 crore, the Vellfire aims to continue its reign as a symbol of opulence on Indian roads.
