New Delhi: Commencing this Thursday, a significant three-day gathering within the G20 framework will address the critical topic of financial inclusion, as per an official announcement released on Wednesday.

This marks the fourth installment of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI), convening an impressive assembly of over 50 representatives hailing from G20 member nations, as well as select invitee countries and international organizations. The conference's primary focus will revolve around deliberations concerning the ongoing efforts and initiatives within the sphere of financial inclusion, as part of the G20 India Presidency's overarching agenda, with particular emphasis on digital financial inclusion and support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

Preceding the main conference, a stimulating symposium centered on the theme of "Digital Public Infrastructure's Role in Empowering Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)" is scheduled for September 14. Subsequently, on September 16, an additional symposium, titled "Advancing Financial Inclusion through Digital Public Infrastructure: Empowering Consumers through Digital and Financial Literacy, and Ensuring Consumer Protection," will round out the comprehensive agenda of this critical event.

The GPFI members are set to engage in discussions pertaining to various aspects of their work. These topics include the implementation of the G20 GPFI High-Level Principles for Digital Financial Inclusion, updates on National Remittance Plans, and the exploration of best practices and innovative tools to address common challenges in SME financing.

Additionally, a symposium entitled "Advancing Financial Inclusion through Digital Public Infrastructure: Empowering Consumers through Digital and Financial Literacy and Consumer Protection" is scheduled to take place on September 16, 2023, as an integral part of the GPFI Meeting.
