The Indian rupee today gets weaker against the US dollar

The rupee opened market with 67.23 per US dollar. At 9.10am, the home currency was trading at 67.28, down 0.36% from its previous close of 67.04.

India’s benchmark Sensex index rose 0.25% or 66.74 points to 26,720.34. In the last five days, Sensex has gained 5.75% or 1,400 points. So far this year, Sensex has gained 2.3%.

The dollar index, measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 95.915, up 0.41% from its previous close of 95.521. Meanwhile, India’s 10-year bond yield was trading at 7.456%, as compared with its Friday’s close of 7.471%.
