On Saturday; The Kashmir valley has been under heavy unrest on 57th consecutive day since the Hijbul Mujahiddin's "poster boy" was killed in an encounter with the Indian security forces.

This incident led to clashes between the security forces and the civilians presiding in the valley. Situations had gotten so worse that the valley was imposed under a strict curfew for a total of 52 days which as of ended on Tuesday.

Apparently the people of Kashmir as well as the Indian security forces still aren't quite in a position to take a sigh of relief !

Authorities on Thursday imposed a curfew in 3 places namely the areas falling under the jurisdiction of  Nowhatta and M.R.Gunj police stations in Srinagar city along with Baramulla.

On Wednesday an angry mob pelted stones on a passing army convoy in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district, resulting which a youth identified as Danish Ahmed got killed in the cross firing by the Security forces.

The raging mob also torched the house of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) Rajya Sabha member, Nazir Ahmad Laway. Sources say that the rampant and hostile mob first blazed the guard room at his house and then the main building.

Adding to this, a stone pelting mob also engaged security forces in clashes in Sopore town on Thursday morning. Another mob torched a three-wheeler in Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar city for defying the shutdown called by the separatists. The separatists have very bluntly even released a fresh protest calender through which they have asked the people to continue the shutdown till September 8th.

The life has come to a complete standstill since past 55 days in Kashmir due to the clashes between security forces and the protesters. Educational institutions have remained suspended since more than a month and a half. Basic facilities like public transport, markets and grocery shops have also been shut. What truly is terrifying is the fact that a total of 71 people have been killed and over 11,000 others injured in the Valley during this period.

Clashes occurred between the security forces at 35 places on Friday in which over 100 people including civilians and security men were injured.
