Muzaffarpur: A painful incident is coming out from Muzaffarpur in Bihar where a lover was beaten to death at Chhath Ghat. The friends who came to rescue the young man were also tied up and beaten up. His treatment is going on in Sadar Hospital. The police, who reached the information of the incident, took the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. The incident is of Chhath Ghat of Basatpur village of the Kanti police station area. 

The deceased 19-year-old Nihal alias Ayan Mehndi was a resident of Hasanpur Toli of Hassan Road. He had gone to Chhath Ghat to meet his girlfriend. Meanwhile, the family members of the girlfriend caught the lover by accusing him of molesting. Then the mob present there surrounded the lover and brutally thrashed him to death. The family members of the deceased said, "Ayan and the girl had a love affair for 4 years. Both had run away from the house 2 years ago. A case was also registered regarding this. Ayan went to jail for kidnapping his girlfriend. Still, the case is going on. We wanted the matter to end. For some days the girl was pressurizing that would have to come to meet at Chhath Ghat."

Further family members told, "Ayan from Brahmapura had gone to Chhath Ghat to meet the girl at the time of offering Arghya on Sunday. At the same time, the family members of the girlfriend saw him. They started chasing on charges of molestation and were present at Chhath Ghat. Hundreds of people beat him up." In the matter, Town DSP Raghav Dayal said, "Ayan of Brahmapura police station area has been murdered in Basatpur village of Kanti police station area. The post-mortem of the dead body has been done. The family members of the deceased have lodged an FIR. They have demanded that the killers should be arrested at the earliest. Police are also taking action in this matter."
