According to police sources, a case of rape of a minor student was registered against the home teacher at Bishnupur police station in Bankura a week ago. The police arrested the teacher on the basis of a complaint by the minor's family. The information that the police received after the custodial interrogation of the teacher is surprising. According to sources, the accused said that despite having a marriageable age, the teacher was not married. He then consulted a Tantrik, a resident of a Beliatore police station. The Tantrik said that the blood of the private part of a minor girl will be taken to remove the "defect". For this, the accused raped the student. The police arrested the accused Tantrik from the Manjhipara area on Sunday evening. On Monday, the accused was taken to Bishnupur court. While going to court, the arrested Tantrik denied all the allegations against him. The Tantrik said, 'I never did anything to incite rape. I have been implicated without any fault.'

A senior officer of the Bankura district police said, 'An application has been made in the court to take the arrested tantrik in his custody. He will be interrogated and his role in raping the minor will be probed.' Jaydev Chandra, Bankura District Secretary of West Bengal Vigyan Manch has said that 'This incident is very shameful in the modern era. Here the accused is a teacher.
