Developing a Betting Site for Pakistan: Shockingly, the promoters of the Mahadev betting app were in contact with Mustaqeem Ali Kaskar, Dawood Ibrahim's brother. Mustaqeem Ali Kaskar allegedly approached Sourabh Chandrakar, one of the app's promoters, to develop a similar betting platform for Pakistan. Dawood Ibrahim is reportedly hiding in Karachi, making this revelation highly concerning.

Dubai Connection: Mustaqeem Ali Kaskar reportedly received approximately thirty bodyguards from Sourabh Chandrakar during his visit to Dubai. This connection adds another layer to the investigation, hinting at international collaboration.

Money Laundering and Illicit Activities:

Transfers through Hawala Operators: The funds involved in the scam were funneled to Middle Eastern countries, primarily Dubai, through over 500 hawala operators and nearly 70 shell companies. These shadowy channels facilitated the movement of significant sums, drawing attention to the sheer scale of these operations.

Involvement of Prominent Figures: Shockingly, numerous senior politicians, government officials, entertainers, and businesspersons have been linked to the Mahadev betting app scam. In February, the Ministry of Home Affairs took action against at least 138 online gambling apps with connections to China and other dubious foreign jurisdictions. Lotus 365 and other similar apps, registered abroad, faced the ban.

These illegal apps function similarly to casinos but lack legal validation. Unlike regulated casinos, these apps operate outside the law and have no proper accounting system.

Money Flow through Hawala and Shell Companies:

The WhatsApp links in these apps lead users to payment options like Paytm or G Pay.
Funds transferred by users go to the accounts of panel members controlling the app or website.
After deducting a commission, panel members funnel money into hawala accounts or shell companies.
Through a complex process, the money is laundered into offshore accounts.
A single hawala operator manages hundreds of clients, amplifying the scale of the operation.

Bollywood Celebrities Under Scrutiny:

As the investigation unfolds, the Enforcement Directorate has summoned 34 Bollywood celebrities, including actors, singers, and dancers. Well-known figures such as Raftaar, Sonu Sood, Hardy Sandhu, Sonakshi Sinha, Malaika Arora, and Amit Trivedi are among those under scrutiny. Actor Ranbir Kapoor was also summoned in connection with the case after his presence at Saurabh Chandrakar's wedding, raising further questions about the nexus between entertainment and the Mahadev betting app.
