The popular TV serial "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" was inspired by an individual born on December 26, 1929. Six years ago, at the age of 87, the renowned author Taarak Mehta passed away. Although Taarak Mehta is no longer in the world today, his book continues to bring joy to 150 people's homes. In fact, 52 years ago, in 1971, the Gujarati writer Taarak Mehta began writing a column titled 'Duniya Ne Undha Chashma' in the weekly magazine Chitralekha. This column was compiled into a book, and from this book, Asit Kumar Modi created "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" for Sony Sab TV.

Today, approximately 150 people work in the team of the Taarak Mehta serial, including actors, writers, directors, creative directors, makeup artists, assistant directors, directors of photography (DOP), costume designers, lightmen, spot boys, and security personnel. While some actors and behind-the-scenes team members have bid farewell to the serial, many individuals in the team have been associated with the show for the past 15 years.

It is often said that there are no guarantees in the entertainment industry, and many serials that start with great enthusiasm end within 3 to 4 months. However, Taarak Mehta provided Asit Modi with a hit formula by collaborating on his book, ensuring that despite the storms of TRP competition over the past 15 years, this show on Sony Sab TV continues to thrive. This is why working on the "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah" show under 'Neela Telefilms' is considered no less than a government job for the people involved. Employees receive a weekly day off, and according to the day policy (three-month policy), they are compensated.

The Gujarati writer Taarak Mehta's creation is not just loved in Gujarat but also across the country. Although the story revolves around Gokuldham Society in Mumbai, it features characters from different parts of the country, including the Gujarati Jethalal, Marathi Popatlal, UP's journalist Popatlal, Punjabi Sodhi, and Bengali Babita Ji. This diverse representation is why people from all over the country, from adults to children, enjoy the show.
