New Delhi: The chairman of the mandi union and his brother were openly fired upon on Saturday night in Delhi's Subhash Nagar area. Since this incident, panic has spread among the people of the area. The incident took place in the Harinagar police station area. According to police, the duo was travelling in a car towards their home in Delhi's Tihar village.

A video of the shooting incident has also surfaced. It is seen that Ajay Chaudhary's car going in a white colour car gets stuck in the traffic. Then 3 boys riding the scooty come and start firing at the car. The person sitting in the driver's seat asks the person sitting behind his hands to constantly bend down and races the car forward. The car then reverses and moves backwards.

Both the chairman of the mandi union, Ajay Chaudhary and his brother Jaswant, were injured in the firing by the criminals. His car was shot about 15 to 20 times. According to Ghanshyam Bansal, DCP, West district, both of them are undergoing treatment at a private hospital. So far, the reason behind the firing incident is not known. It is also suspected that the Salman Tyagi gang is behind the case. The gang is currently in jail. Ajay Chaudhary was having enmity with this gang. However, the police are yet to say anything clearly about the reasons for the incident. The incident is also being viewed from the angle of looting. The same is now scanning police and CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
