Tamil Nadu : Liquor retail outlets are operating in Tamil Nadu through the management of Tasmag. As these bring in more revenue to the state, it has been allowed to remain open during the Corona period with some restrictions. Liquor stores were also closed during the entire curfew that was imposed earlier when the MK Stalin-led DMK government took office. Liquor stores were then allowed to open in the announced gradual relaxations. Various changes are being made only during the operation of these stores. There are more than 5,300 government liquor stores operating across the state. These usually operate from 12 noon to 10 pm. Liquor lovers are getting very excited as it operates all days of the week without holidays. Liquor stores are currently open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In this context, it has been alleged that corona prevention guidelines are not being followed properly in various liquor stores. That is, customers are said to come to buy alcohol without wearing a mask and following adequate body spacing. Store employees are also suffering from not being able to regulate them. Therefore, the authorities should periodically monitor whether the Corona guidelines are being followed properly in liquor stores.

It has been reported that Tasmac management has decided to reduce the opening hours of Tasmac stores as a measure to prevent the third wave of Corona. That is, it is scheduled to operate only from 12 noon to 7 p.m. It is expected that the shops will be closed an hour earlier. It is said that permission will be sought from the government in this regard and a final decision may be taken after August 15.
