Shimla: On the call of Central Trade Unions and National Federations for the second day on Tuesday against the policies of the Central Government, CITU, INTUC, AITUC, Joint Coordination Committee of Central Employees, Insurance, Banks, BSNL, Postal Workers, AG Office in various work areas. The strike of workers and central employees working in the state is still going on. The strike has also been seen to have an impact on the functioning of other departments including banks.

Demonstrations are being held from place to place by the unions. In Shimla, CITU took out a rally from outside the DC office to Sher-e-Punjab and started a fierce demonstration against the policies of the government. Four labor codes should be made by abolishing the labor laws. Public sector disinvestment and privatization should be banned. The old pension scheme should be restored. Outsource policy is being formulated. Scheme workers should be declared as regular government employees. MNREGA workers should be given 200 days of employment and Rs 350 as daily wage. Compassionate employment should be given.

By removing the anomalies of the Sixth Pay Commission, its benefits should be provided to the employees at the earliest. The minimum wage of laborers should be declared as Rs.21 thousand. Steps should be taken to check the high inflation of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and food items. The anti-owner and laborer amendments in the Motor Vehicle Act should be withdrawn.
