The sudden death of Sonali Phogat has shocked the political and entertainment worlds. On August 22, Sonali passed away, and word of her passing quickly went viral. Sonali's untimely death prompted the family to file a case and ask the Goa police to look into the matter. According to the post-mortem report, she had "multiple blunt force injuries" throughout her body. After that, a murder case was filed under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

After PA Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh, another person has reportedly been detained in Sonali's case, according to the PTI report. The drug dealer was reportedly detained on August 27, Saturday night, for allegedly providing drugs to a different dealer who is then accused of providing drugs to Ms. Phogat's associates. On Saturday, the proprietor of the restaurant where Phogat was spotted having fun the night before she died was also taken into custody. As a result, five people have now been detained in connection with Sonali's homicide.

The police claim that Phogat was coerced into consuming meth at the renowned restaurant/nightclub Curlie on Anjuna beach on Monday based on security camera footage and confessions. The restaurant owner and drug dealer are accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, while Sudhir and Sukhwinder are charged with murder.

On August 22, Phogat arrived in Goa and checked into a hotel in Anjuna. At Curlie's restaurant in North Goa that same night, Sonali went out to party with her PA Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh. Under the guise of partying, Sudhir spiked Sonali's water and made her drink it. After that, she expressed her discomfort and nausea in the restaurant. Sangwan and Sukhwinder later drove her to the hotel where they were staying. Sonali was brought to St. Anthony hospital in Anjuna on Tuesday morning at around 8 a.m., where she was pronounced dead.

Although Phogat's death was initially thought to be a case of a heart attack, a murder case was eventually registered by Goa police in response to her family's demands for a thorough investigation and Manohar Lal Khattar's intervention. The BJP leader and actor Sonali Phogat's murder case will be turned over to the Central Bureau of Investigation, according to the Haryana government, which has stated that it will write to Goa to request this (CBI). Following a meeting between Phogat's family and Chandigarh Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the announcement was made.

Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh were detained by the Goa Police on Thursday, August 25, in connection with the murder of Sonali Phogat. Sangwan has admitted to the crime, according to Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh Bishnoi, who made the statement during a press conference on Friday. The two have been given a 10-day police detention sentence.

More than 25 people have been questioned by the police thus far, including employees of the restaurant, the resort where Phogat was staying, the hospital where she was pronounced dead, and her driver.

Actress-politician Sonali Phogat gained notoriety after taking part in Bigg Boss 14. Many celebrities, including Aly Goni, Nikki Tamboli, Abhinav Shukla, and Himanshi Khurana, among others, expressed their sorrow over Sonali Phogat's untimely death.
