VIJAYAWADA: Krishna District Collector J Niwas on Friday said that the district has crossed the historical figure of 50 lakh COVID jobs and wished that the objective of a COVID-free district would be fulfilled soon. He expressed happiness over giving 50 lakh Covid jobs in the district so far. He praised the services of health workers, ward and village volunteers, ANMs, ASHA workers, tehsildars, MPDOs and other officers and staff involved in COVID vaccination.

In a statement, the Collector said that as part of the COVID vaccination, 29,99,387 jabs of the first dose have been given in the district so far. Similarly, 19,98,329 second doses have been given so far. The collector told the media that 44,324 health workers of the district were given the first and second doses of the vaccine. Giving details of the frontline workers, the Collector said that the first dose of vaccine was given to 1.98 lakh health workers and the second dose was given to 1.7 lakh workers.

Collector Niwas said that 12.92 lakh jobs were given to people in the age group of 18 to 45 years, while the total population of that age group was 17.52 lakh. He called upon the officers and staff to fulfill the objective of immunization of all eligible people in Krishna district, and urged to make the district free from COVID.
