The Seat M50 is all set to launch in EV market

New Delhi: The M-50 entry-level electric scooter from Spanish automaker SEAT has been unveiled for international markets. This is the company's second electric scooter to be unveiled; the first was the M125, which was displayed at EICMA a few months ago.

The business collaborated with e-scooter expert Silence to create the oddball-looking product equating to a 50cc ICE-powered scooter.

In recent years, the automotive industry has seen a trend toward electrification, with many well-known and up-and-coming automakers entering the two-wheeled BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) market.

The renowned automaker SEAT, a company well-known worldwide for its World Touring Car Championship accomplishments, is the most recent addition to the list. With SEAT's entry into the e-scooter market, we anticipate that the competition will intensify.

The SEAT M 50 features a single-piece stepped-up seat, split-type grab rails, an upright windscreen, a wide handlebar, angular mirrors, a flat footboard, an eccentric design philosophy, a circular LED headlamp mounted on the apron with integrated DRLs, and a sleek LED taillight.

The e-scooter has 15-inch designer alloy wheels and a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity.

A user-replaceable 5.6kWh battery pack and a 7.3kW hub-mounted electric motor power the SEAT M 50. The system is capable of producing 9.7 horsepower. On a single charge, the e-scooter claims to travel up to 172 kilometres.

The SEAT M 50 has disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, as well as a regenerative braking system, for the safety of the rider.
Three riding modes are also available for the scooter: City, Sport, and Eco.
Telescopic forks at the front and a side-mounted mono-shock unit at the back of the EV handle the suspension functions.

The automaker has not yet provided information about the SEAT M-50's pricing or availability. For the European market, we anticipate that the e-scooter will be priced competitively. The anticipated release date is early 2023.
