Maharashtra electricity department recently in chaos has announced 'Diwali bonanza' for the state people. The department has received complaints about inflated electricity bills. The state has hinted that a waiver will likely be given soon. The Minister informed that CM has called him and asked to resolve the issue on first priority.

Minister during a recent interview told,"We plan to do what we have promised. You are aware that during the COVID-19 pandemic the economy has seen a depression. Our first priority was to save lives. We diverted the entire budget to that cause. But electricity is important and people's livelihoods have not completely returned. Financial conditions are not good. Keeping that in mind we are planning a Diwali bonanza". He added the Electricity department has moved the file to Finance Minister Ajit Pawar for appraisal. As pawar is unwell, its takes some time. However, the electricity department is following it up.
