On Sunday, a jet carrying US troops landed in southern Poland, following US President Joe Biden's request to send soldiers to Poland, Romania, and Germany this week, amid increased tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the Polish Defense Ministry, the 1,700 US soldiers deploying to Poland would be deployed in the country's eastern and southern regions. On Friday and Saturday, more planes brought logistics, equipment, and a few soldiers. Tensions between Russia and Ukraine are rising as Western nations increase military exercises near Russia's borders.

Russia has been accused by Kyiv and its Western allies of massing forces along the Ukrainian border, raising the spectre of a "invasion." Such accusations have been refuted by Moscow, which claims it has every right to mobilise soldiers within its borders to protect its national security.
