New Delhi: Our communication means will soon change. Smartphones that use laser-based communication methods may be available shortly. Alternatively, assist navigation so that communications from space take less time to arrive. NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) plans to launch a satellite on December 4 that will revolutionize communication technologies. Instead of radio frequencies, this spacecraft will use lasers to transmit data.

NASA's mission is called Laser Communication Relay Demonstration (Laser Communication Relay Demonstration - LCRD). Only laser will be used to send data from this satellite to Earth, and the only laser will be used to receive data from this satellite. This will help you save time. Because data loss and delay are common with radio frequency-based communications. With lasers, however, none of this will occur. It will transfer communications faster and will not be affected by weather, hacking, or data transmitted by radiofrequency.

Using NASA LCRD technology to send communications is particularly advantageous since it will be 10 to 100 times more powerful than radiofrequency. 10 to 100 times indicates you may send and receive messages based on the laser's power. It is possible to save energy.
