In Solapur, Shrikant Deshmukh is considered a stalwart of the BJP. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Jai Siddheshwar Acharya won the election from here. Now Deshmukh's video going viral can damage the image of the BJP here. Deshmukh was made the president of Solapur district a year and a half ago.

However, Deshmukh's video was shared from the RJD's Twitter account. In it, the RJD had claimed that the woman seen in the video was a BJP leader. According to the report, on Tuesday night, Shrikant Deshmukh filed a case against the woman. Deshmukh accused the woman of implicating him in a 'honeytrap.' Deshmukh alleged that the woman first framed him in a honeytrap and later started blackmailing him. He also alleged that the woman was demanding Rs 2 crore from him.

On the same Deshmukh complaint, the Mumbai Police registered an 'extortion' case against the woman. However, the woman has not yet been arrested. The video went viral on social media after Deshmukh filed a case on his behalf. The video was recorded by the woman. In the viral video, the woman is crying while recording, while Deshmukh is seen sitting on the bed. In the meantime, Deshmukh tries to close the video. Deshmukh resigned from the post of district president after the video surfaced. Subsequently, Maharashtra BJP President Chandrakant Patil removed him from the post. In the same case filed on behalf of Deshmukh, he has claimed that he has been framed in a 'honeytrap'. According to the report, Deshmukh has made these allegations against the 32-year-old woman. The woman hails from Oshiwara in Mumbai. However, the RJD claims that the woman seen in the video is a BJP leader. At the same time, the woman has claimed that she has been cheated on by Deshmukh in the name of a relationship with her.
