SHAHJAHANPUR: In the Shahjahanpur area of Uttar Pradesh, A 32-year-old man was beaten to death, allegedly on the orders of his boss, and his body was dumped outside at a government hospital.
Seven persons have been identified in the murder investigation after a video of the assault went viral, including a transport businessman for whom Shivam Johri worked as a manager.
The man repeatedly strikes Shivam with a rod as he is tied to a post and writhes in anguish in the video. Shivam apparently faced a theft charge.
Shivam's body was left at the medical college and hospital on Tuesday night, and his family was told he had been electrocuted, according to the police.
An investigation was launched after a police officer examined the body at the hospital and found injuries that did not match the electrocution claim.
The investigation so far has found that Shivam had been working with transport businessman Bankim Suri for the past 7 years.
Recently, a package of leading business Kanhiya Hosiery went missing. Several employees of the transporters were allegedly assaulted on the suspicion of theft. Neeraj Gupta, the proprietor of Kanhiya Hosiery, is one of the seven people charged with the murder.
Police have also seized a car from the premises of Kanhiya Hosiery and it is suspected to be linked to the crime. The body has been sent for a postmortem and further action will take place when the report comes in, police said.
