Dehradun: A news item is spreading rapidly in Uttarakhand recently in which it is being told that 'only three days of petrol is left, fill it quickly.' "What is this rumour in the state?  There was a long queue of people at the petrol pump. On Monday night, there was a sudden long queue at petrol pumps in several cities including Dehradun, Haridwar, and Roorkee. Due to a rumour, the crowd increased so much that there was a traffic jam and the police had to come to handle the people.

In fact, there was a shortage of petrol at some petrol pumps in the capital Dehradun and adjoining cities. Meanwhile, on Monday, the message went viral on social media that only 3 days of petrol is left in Uttarakhand. People accepted this rumour as true and in the afternoon, there was a queue at the pump. At night the queue became longer and there was a traffic jam.  

Subsequently, the Uttarakhand Police had to take over the front on its own and the work of convincing the people began. The Dehradun SSP himself released the video and appealed to the people and said that there is no shortage of petrol in the state. However, even after this, many people did not agree and he remained in the queue until his tank was full. It is being said that the supply of petrol and diesel at the pumps of Hindustan Petroleum was stopped for 3 days, but due to a rumour after the supply at the pumps of Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum, due to a rumour, people here also queued up late at night to fill petrol and diesel. Seeing the situation going unchecked, the police had to take the lead. On the issue, the Dehradun Police urged the people to maintain peace and religious harmony in the present scenario, do not pay heed to any kind of rumours and immediately inform the police control room or your nearest police station if any information is received regarding rumour mongers through social media or other means."
