Ahmadabad: In the 2008 serial bomb blast case in Ahmedabad, the Special Court in its order issued on Saturday sentenced 38 to death, while 11 other convicts were sentenced to remain in jail till their death. The order said that for the first time in the country, the hospital was selected for mass murders. Along with this, the court also said that in the two hospitals where the blasts were carried out in a time bound manner along with the plan, several other leaders including the then CM Narendra Modi and the then Minister of State for Home Amit Shah were also planned to be killed. Let us tell you that on 26 July 2008, one of the most destructive of the 20 blasts in Ahmedabad took place in Asia's largest civil hospital Asarwa.
37 people were killed in these blasts, mainly doctors, social workers, health workers and relatives of the injured. At the same time, no one was injured in the blast at another hospital LG. A total of 56 people were killed in these blasts, while 240 people were badly injured. Court's special judge AR Patel said in his order that, 'There have been many incidents of bomb blasts in the country so far, but in these blasts, two major hospitals of the city were bombed with the intention of mass killings. Also, many vehicles laden with explosives were used to give a gruesome look to these blasts.
Such bomb blasts had never happened in the hospitals of the country before and had never been heard in this regard. In this case, the court also said that the plan was to kill as many Hindus as possible, due to which strikes were held in some areas. Along with this, the judge also rejected the argument of those convicts, in which some had said that 'they have been falsely implicated in this case due to being Muslim.' The court also said that the purpose of these blasts in hospitals is something. Big politicians had to be killed. Because the terrorists knew that, after hearing the news of the bomb blasts, big politicians would reach the hospital to help and console the victims.
