New Delhi: After the crushing defeat in the assembly elections in five states, the tension within Congress continues. Meanwhile, the party continues to brainstorm on the reasons for the defeat, meanwhile, former Haryana CM and veteran leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has met former party president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday.
Notably, Bhupinder Singh Hooda had also attended a meeting of the G-23, known as the dissident faction of the Congress, a day earlier. The G-23 faction has been demanding major changes in Congress for a long time. Bhupendra Singh's meeting with former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi lasted for about an hour. After meeting Rahul, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda held a meeting at Ghulam Nabi Azad's house, where the leaders met for about an hour. Along with Bhupender Singh, Anand Sharma had also reached Azad's residence.
However, what was discussed in the meeting with Rahul is yet to be known. Sources, however, said Hooda was not happy with the way Congress' Haryana unit chief Kumari Selja worked and had met Rahul in this regard. It is also being said that Hooda wants to occupy the post of the chief of the state Congress unit and get the post to his son Deepender Hooda.
