Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor are rumored to be dated each other for a couple of times. Jaya Bachchan also declared Karisma as her future daughter-in-law. The couple also got engaged but they had decided to part their ways and eventually married other people. According to the reports, their love story started on the set of Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya.
The director of the film Suneel Darshan spoke about relationships. In the recent interview, Suneel was asked about the ‘rumors’ of the relationship. The filmmaker said, “There were no rumors. It was confirmed. They were a couple and getting married. We attended the engagement. I was a part of that. The Kapoor sisters were very close because of my respect for Babita ji. Where Abhishek was concerned, Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya was a special movie and it needed to be. It was the only movie where Abhishek and were cast together. They never worked together before or after.”
He further added, “They were really not the ‘made for each other’ kind. There was constant bickering. Maybe that’s how some people are. I always wondered if they are really the ‘made for each other’ kind of pair. Abhishek is a sweet fellow. Lolo (Karisma’s nickname) is a very nice person too. But maybe some things are destined.”
Abhishek and Karisma were rumored to be dating for many years. The two were even engaged to be married. Abhishek’s sister Shweta Bachchan is married to Karisma Kapoor’s cousin Nikhil Nanda. In 2003, reports of their broken engagement had made headlines. One Abhishek Bachchan speaking about the split said, “I am bound to feel the pain. But I have to rise above my personal problems.” He had further added, “As for my personal life, no one can force me to talk about it. It is my problem and my pain. The only ones I am answerable to are my parents and immediate family."
