Rameswaram, About 35 km from here in Uchipuli, thieves broke into the house of a Naval officer and decamped with some electronic goods.
According to police, "Sudhir Kumar, posted at I N S Parundu, had gone to his home in Punjab with his wife while the burglary took place late last night".
"The couple returned this morning to find the doors broken open and various items, including electronic goods, worth about Rs one lakh missing, following which they lodged a complaint", added police.
The house was taken by Kumar on rent. police said.
