BHOPAL: After holding the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas and the Global Investment Summit, two major international gatherings, in Indore, the Madhya Pradesh government will begin hosting the Think-20 preparatory meetings for the G-20 summit in Bhopal on Monday.
At least 94 representatives from various foreign nations will reportedly attend a two-day meeting (Jan. 16–17) at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Center in Bhopal, according to information provided by the state government.
According to a government statement released on Monday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will attend the meeting's opening session, during which specialists and foreign guests will debate a range of subjects, including "Global Governance with LIFE, Values, and Wellbeing."
Slamet Soedarsono, the deputy minister for political affairs, law, and security in Indonesia, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, the chief coordinator for India's G20 presidency, and Suman Bery, the vice chair of NITI Aayog, will also talk during the opening session.
Sachin Chaturvedi, the director general of the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), and Sujan Chinoy, the director general of the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, will both speak at the session.
In addition to these, there will be 10 concurrent sessions on a variety of themes on the first day, including institutional framework, financing resilient cities and societies, economic system change, and one on health wellness and conventional medicine.
"Think-20 is a crucial component of the G-20 engagement groups, where the top research institutes from around the world talk about issues pertaining to the G-20. We are in a great position to offer the solutions the world wants the G20 to address and to implement ambitious, inclusive policies that will produce results during our presidency "said Harshvardhan Shringla, the Chief Co-ordinator for Think-20 appointed by the Centre.
