Football fans celebrating the birthday of Argentina's star footballer Leonel Massey in Bangladesh have been fined. These fans are accused of violating health guidelines related to Covid-19 during the celebrations. Massey turned 33 on Wednesday. Official sources said that on Wednesday, a group of 15 people gathered at a restaurant in Chaudanga district, 170 km from the capital Dhaka, on the occasion of Macy's birthday and celebrated the birthday of Barcelona's star footballer.
Magistrate Feroz Hussain said, "We saw all those people sitting in a restaurant and waiting to celebrate Massey's birthday." Magistrate Hussain was at that time leading a team of soldiers whose job was to ensure that people follow the health guidelines.
The fans violated the rule of social distancing in the area under lockdown, so each person has been fined 100 taka ($ 1.17).
