Since the arrival of the coronavirus, the form of marriages in the country has changed a lot. Many people started the big fat Indian wedding with the typical band Baaja Baraat to marry only with family members at a small scale at a low cost. This is also the need of the hour in view of the safety from Covid.

But this couple from Pune has brought a completely new and advanced way to get married for people. The couple, who had a court marriage in November 2021, got married on the blockchain and have also made a commitment to each other in the form of NFT (Non-Fungible Token). According to media reports, blockchain will be a technology in it not only its currency but also be able to store anything by changing it to a digital format. It keeps the data safe and in this sense experts consider it important because they will not be able to hack it.

Anil Narasipuram and Shruti Nair from Pune are the first couple in the country to get married on blockchain. This information has been given by Anil himself, a designer by profession, by writing on Linkedin and is aware of his article as to how this process was completed.

Anil wrote, "We wanted to immortalize our marriage through blockchain technology. The ceremony was run by our digital expert Anup Pakki and Shruti and I made our marriage official blockchain in the middle of the Ethereum smart contract and secured our commitment as an NFT in  OpenSea."

In the same post, Anil has also said that for the image of NFT, he has used the photo of the engagement ring worn in Shruti's hand on which he has also embedded the vows of the marriage. The oaths taken by the couple are also the oaths of the new age Indian couples and they are very practical. "We won't make any big promises, but we're going to do everything to handle this marriage. Between disagreements and quarrels, we are going to try to understand each other and ourselves well. We don't say that we will become each other's whole world, but in this journey, we will walk together holding each other's hands."

Just a few days ago, a couple from Tamil Nadu had grabbed people's attention for their reception in the virtual reality world of Metaverse. The couple had kept the theme of Harry Potter's world of magical Hogwarts for the reception. The wedding trend on Metaverse has been started by Facebook's parent company Meta.
