The men's team of South Australia (Redbacks), playing in Australia's top domestic competition, has started training before the season. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, activities related to cricket have come to a standstill, which has also affected Australia. According to Cricket Australia's website, the players of the South Australia cricket team ran 2 kilometers on the first day of the practice session without the head coach.

The players started practice under the supervision of the team's assistant coach and former Test batsman Great Blewett. Right now running practice is being done. Team player and Australian ODI wicketkeeper Alex Carrie said that this is the right time for the Redbacks players to start practicing. Players will have to take responsibility and try to improve their performance in 'Marsh Sheffield Shield'.

Carrie further said, 'The whole team has come together, in such a situation we will need a head coach soon. Senior players of the team will have to take responsibility.' The team reached the final of the Sheffield Shield in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons but finished last from the last three seasons. The South Australia Cricket Federation (SACA) has asked former Test batsman Mike Hussey to prepare a roadmap for the return of the game and hand it over to the Board (SACA) before June.
