The trophy is awarded to the winners of the World Cup held once every 4 years, the FIFA World Cup trophy being the most prestigious title in world football. Since its invention, every football-playing country in the world wants to win the FIFA World Cup trophy. At present, more than 200 countries have tried hard on the field to win it. Meanwhile, their encounters have cherished many very memorable moments. But one of the most recognized sporting symbols around the world, and as a result, its associated importance has drawn unwanted attention to the silver trophy. Because of this, the FIFA World Cup trophy became the victim of many conspiracies off the field as well.

Changes in the FIFA World Cup Trophy: In these past years, two different designs of the Football World Cup trophy were also given. The Jules Rimet Trophy was the first design (iteration). It was used from 1930 to 1970. Brazil during this time fully made its name by becoming the first country in the history of the competition to become champions three times (1958, 1962 and 1970). The FIFA World Cup Trophy is a redesigned trophy, which is still in use and has been awarded since 1974 to the winners every four years.

Jules Rimet Trophy: 1930-1970: The glorious journey of the FIFA World Cup trophy began with Jules Rimet, the third President of the world football governing body FIFA. They planned a Football World Cup in 1928 and later passed a vote the following year to hold the first edition in Uruguay in 1930. The task of designing the trophy for the competition was entrusted to Abel Lafleur, a French sculptor, who later went to Los Angeles to participate in the art competitions held between the 1932 Olympics. Lafleur's design featured a gold statue of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, with an octagonal cup on her head. He had a garland around his neck. It was inspired by the Nike of Samothrace, an unfinished yet iconic Greek statue from the Hellenistic era that is housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Let us tell you that the trophy was originally called Victory and commonly called Coupe du Monde (French for World Cup). Not only this, its height was 35 cm and its weight was 3.8 kg. It was constructed from gold-plated sterling silver and also featured a blue base made of a semi-precious stone called lapis lazuli. It had gold plates on all four sides of its base, with the names of the winning countries after each edition.
