Deepika Padukone’s upcoming movie Chappak is making quite a buzz since the day it has announced. Meghna Gulzar directoria; will see the actress filling in the shoes of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal and is slated to release on January 10, 2020.  Apart from Deepika, popular TV and film actor Vikrant Massey has also come on board to play a role in the film. Vikrant will be seen essaying the role of social activist Alok Dixit, who will partner Deepika’s character.

Yalking about the film, Vikrant told TOI that the film will show a dynamic between Alok and Laxmi. He also said that Alok has been working with survivors of acid attacks for a while and has been with Laxmi through her entire struggle.  On working with Deepika, the actor said, “Working with an actress of her calibre is not just an opportunity but also a huge responsibility. I’m both nervous and excited.”

The  actor further said, "As the shoot progresses, I will have to load up another three so I have been binging on anything and everything, from sweets and saturated fats to junk food." Also, for Vikrant, it will be a working birthday on April 3, who told the publication, "The birthday is secondary, I am completely focused on the film."

The film is expected to wrap up by May with a two-month schedule in Mumbai and Delhi.
