Neil Armstrong was born on this day, August 5, 1930, in Wapconetta, Ohio. His father's name was Stephen Armstrong and his mother's name was Louis Angel. His parents had two other children, June and Dean, both of whom were younger than Neil. Father Stephen was an auditor working for the Ohio government and his family used to travel to many towns in Ohio because of this.  

In Neil Armstrong's childhood, he was transferred to about 20 towns. In the meantime, Neil's interest in air flights was aroused. When Neil was five years old. His father took him on board a Ford Trimotor aeroplane on June 20, 1936, in Warren, Ohio, and Neil experienced his first air flight.

In 1947, at the age of 17, Neil Armstrong began to study aeronautical engineering at The University of Purdue. He was the second person in his family to go to college. He also adopted the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to study. In this regard, Neil Armstrong said that we can get the best education by studying anywhere. Astronaut Neil Armstrong died on August 25, 2012. Neil became the first astronaut to step on the moon. Neil is also known as the first person to step on the moon.
