Kolkata: The resignation of senior Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Dinesh Trivedi has been approved by Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu. It is being told that Dinesh Trivedi may soon join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Dinesh Trivedi announced his resignation in the Rajya Sabha during the discussion on the budget.

Before accepting the resignation, the Chairman of Rajya Sabha Venkaiah Naidu asked if you are resigning under any pressure, or do not want to withdraw the resignation, or need more time to think? On this, Dinesh Trivedi replied that he has not resigned under pressure from anyone, after which his resignation has been approved. During the discussion on the budget in Rajya Sabha, Dinesh Trivedi said that 'Actually we are for the birthplace and I cannot see it. What to do if we do, we are limited in a party, but now I feel suffocated, we are not able to do anything, there are atrocities happening, today my soul is saying that resign and Bengal Stay in the middle of the fire.'

TMC leader Dinesh Trivedi said, 'I am resigning from the Rajya Sabha today and have always worked and will continue to work for the country, for Bengal.'
