New Delhi: Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had to be adjourned once again on Friday following uproar from members of various opposition parties including Trinamool Congress (TMC). Earlier, the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha were adjourned for 12 o'clock, but then, when parliament started, the Opposition again created a ruckus. At the same time, TMC MP Shantanu Sen has been suspended for the rest of the time in the current session of the Upper House for indecent conduct a day ago, meaning Shantanu Sen will remain suspended for the long monsoon session.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Muralidharan proposed suspension of Sen after the proceedings started and necessary documents were laid on the table, which was approved by Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu. However, Sen continued to sit in his seat in the House for a long time. Members of opposition parties, including the Congress, protested strongly against the suspension, after which the House was adjourned till 12 o'clock.
The Rajya Sabha meeting was also rocked by the opposition which had earlier postponed it till 12 o'clock. Earlier, the Lok Sabha wished the Indian athletes to participate in the 32nd Olympic Games, which began in Tokyo, with good performance and victory. When the House reassembled, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla informed the House that 127 Indian athletes are participating in the Olympic Games this time.
