CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu BJP President K.Annamalai has demanded Chief Minister M.K.Stalin to share Governor R.N.Ravi's letter while returning the NEET exemption bill for reconsideration.

Annamalai stated the BJP will cooperate with the government for the welfare of the people, not to defraud them, and that the party's representative will not attend the conference convened by Stalin on Saturday to determine the next line of action.

The state government has responded that it does not have the details of students who took private coaching classes and passed the NEET, in response to a request made under the Right to Information Act, he added.

Annamalai noted that the paucity of data casts doubt on the report of the state government-appointed A.K.Rajan committee.

Annamalai also questioned why Stalin is hesitant to reveal the names of kids who passed the NEET in 2022 from government, government-aided, and private schools.

On February 1, 2022, Governor Ravi sent the bill seeking the state's exemption from NEET to the Speaker of the Assembly for review, claiming it was against the kids' best interests.
