Chennai: Senior IAS officer Santosh Babu in Tamil Nadu has recently taken VRS from civil service. There are reports that he is now going to teach students preparing for civil service in a coaching centre in Chennai. According to the Civil Service Rules, he had 8 more years of service but he has taken VRS. According to the information, Santosh Babu is ready to teach the subject of public administration in the coaching centre. The coaching centre has given information about this. 22 August was Santosh Babu's last day in the office and now opposition parties have raised questions on this.

Santosh Babu, a 1995 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, applied for VRS in. But a few days after the VRS demand, the Tamil Nadu government gave him the post of chairman and MD of Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited. There has been a discussion about Santosh Babu's retirement for a long time. Arappor Iyakkam, an anti-corruption NGO in Chennai, claimed that "TANFINET's 2000 crore tender rules have been changed to benefit some companies."

There was a dispute about the tender, Santosh Babu was posted as the MD of TANFINET and the Chief Secretary of the IT department. After that, the NGO accused the change of tender which was imposed on the state government. A letter was also written to the Central Government regarding this matter. After writing the letter, the Central Government had rejected this tender and directed the State Government to issue a new tender for the project.
