Satya Nadella was born on August 19, 1967, in Hyderabad. His father Bukkapuram Nadella Yugandhar was an administrative officer and his mother Prabhati Yugandhar was a Lecturer in Sanskrit. Satya Nadella completed his early education at Hyderabad Public School. After which he received an electrical engineering degree from Manipal Institute of Technology in 1988 and after that, he did MBA from Booth School of Business in Chicago in 1996.

Satya Nadella married Anupama V Nadella, a friend of his school, in 1992. She was his childhood friend. The two studied together. Today, Satya Nadella is living in America with his family. They have 3 children, including two daughters and a son. Satya fondly calls his wife Anu. In a 2017 LinkedIn post, he had called his wife Anupama as "an amazing woman, mother and partner".

In 1996, a disabled son Zain was born to Satya's wife Anupama. Nadella says that the arrival of his son marked a turning point in his life. He has further said about this that Zain has helped him understand people with disabilities better. Last year, during the Corona epidemic, his wife Anupama V Nadella had given financial assistance of Rs 2 crore to the PM Care Fund. Satya Nadella and his family lived in a large mountain house in Seattle, Washington, before moving to Bellevue, Washington. Apart from family members, there is also a dog in his house.

Satya Nadella has been very interested in cricket since the beginning. He also played a lot of cricket as a child. Along with cricket, he was also a big fan of the Seahawks, a professional American football team based in Seattle. He is very active about his fitness, that is why even at the age of 54, he looks very young. However, he likes to eat sweets. Like him, his wife is also very beautiful.
