New Delhi: Tokyo Olympics the country's daughter Mirabai Chanu thanked everyone after winning a silver medal in weightlifting in 2020. She said it was like a dream becoming reality. Chanu further said, "I would like to dedicate my medal to my country and thank the people for praying for me during my journey. I would like to thank my family, especially my mother who sacrificed a lot for me and trusted me, Chanu said." The champ Mirabai, who won a medal for the country, always carries the soil of India with her.

Chanu said, "Special thanks to our government for supporting me, thanks to the Ministry of Sports, SAI, IOA, Weightlifting Federation of India, Railways, OGQ, Sponsors and my marketing agency for their constant support in this journey. I would like to thank my coach Vijay Sharma sir and the staff. These people inspired me and helped me in training. Thank you very much once again to all the people of the country and the weightlifting fraternity. Jai Hind."

"I am very happy that my daughter has won a silver medal at the Olympics, said Kirti Singh, Mirabai's father. This dream is like being true. My daughter initially faced a lot of problems. She is very hardworking. She used to sit on top of trucks and go to Khuman Lampak Stadium, 35 kilometers away, for practice. I am proud of my daughter who has given pride to the country."
