Aizawl: The total number of cases in Mizoram rose to 1,15,207 with 741 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. On Tuesday, the northeastern state reported 665 cases. The COVID-19 cases in the state showed a declining trend for the past one week, with the daily cases being below 1000. The death toll rose to 396 after three more people died of the infection in the last 24 hours, the official said. The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients is 90.74 percent, which is lower than the national average of 98.15 percent and the mortality rate is 0.34 percent, as against the national average of 1.33 percent.

The state has so far conducted over 12.46 lakh sample tests for COVID-19, out of which 8,264 samples were tested on Wednesday. State Immunization Officer Dr Laljavmi said that till Wednesday over 6.92 lakh people have been vaccinated, out of which 4.96 lakh people have received the full dose of Covid-19 vaccine. After Durga Puja celebrations are over in West Bengal, the number of Covid-19 infections is on the rise. According to the data released by the Health Department of West Bengal, 867 persons have been found COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours and this number is increasing every day.
