NEPAL: In a tragic incident, a helicopter carrying five individuals crashed on Wednesday in the mountainous region northwest of Nepal's capital, Kathmandu. The helicopter, operated by Air Dynasty, had departed from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport and was en route to Syaprubeshi.

Shortly after takeoff, the helicopter lost contact with air traffic control. On board were four Chinese nationals and a Nepali pilot. All five passengers perished in the crash, which occurred in the Shivpuri area of Nuwakot district.

The helicopter, identified as Air Dynasty 9N-AJD, took off at 1:54 PM local time and lost communication with authorities just three minutes later, at approximately 1:57 PM. The crash site, located in Ward No. 7 of Shivapuri Rural Municipality, has been the focus of intensive rescue operations.

Police have recovered the bodies from the crash site, although one body was found severely charred and beyond recognition. The four Chinese nationals were reportedly on their way to Rasuwa, a town north of Kathmandu, when the tragic incident occurred.

Local media, citing sources at Tribhuvan International Airport, confirmed the helicopter's departure time and the subsequent loss of contact near Surya Chaur. Rescue teams are working tirelessly at the scene, and news agencies have verified the deaths of all five occupants.

This accident highlights the risks associated with air travel in Nepal's challenging mountainous terrain, where unpredictable weather and difficult landscapes often pose significant dangers to aviation.
